This month as a part of our Amplify series I’m excited to share with you guys Bolé Road Textiles. They’ve been such an interiors inspiration to me, and I’ve added a few pieces to my own home. Each piece is uniquely crafted and tells a beautiful story.
Founded by Brooklyn based designer Hana Getachew, the textiles are inspired by her desire to integrate Ethiopian patterns and fabrics into her career as an interior designer. She begins her design process with a concept drawing based on the landscape of Ethiopia and uses this as a template to sketch ideas for patterns. Once she lands on a signature sketch, she builds the collection and re-creates the designs digitally before sending to Ethiopia for an artisan to hand weave. From pillows to throws, to bathmats and table settings, everything from Bolé Road Textile is handwoven by an artisan in Ethiopia.
